For the family caregiver

You can't be there 24/7. But your phone can.

Invite family with one link. They don't just see Mom's schedule — they control it. Add a new prescription, move a doctor's appointment, update her pharmacy contact, snooze an alert. All from their own phone, without ever touching hers.

  • Edit her medications from your phoneNew prescription? Add it remotely. Dose changed? Update it. Discontinued? Archive it. Her phone updates instantly — alarm already scheduled.
  • Manage her appointments remotelyCardiology moved to Tuesday? Reschedule it yourself. Add the blood draw. Set the reminder for 1 hour before. Mom sees it on her Today screen automatically.
  • Update her health contactsChange her pharmacy, swap the PCP, add the new cardiologist, update the insurance line. One edit updates her emergency contact list, too.
  • Tune her alarms & recurring remindersChange alarm type from persistent to gentle, adjust snooze windows, silence a specific med for a hospital stay, or pause everything during travel — all remote.
  • Missed-dose alerts, instantly30 minutes past due → every connected caregiver gets pinged. You decide whether to call, drive over, or just snooze from your phone.
  • Managing both parents? One dashboard.Mom and Dad side by side, color-coded, live. See who's next, who's late, who's all clear — without switching profiles.

All caregiver edits sync over an authenticated, row-level-secured channel. Seniors can revoke any caregiver connection at any time from Settings.

How caregiver sharing works
Generated caregiver code

A medication reminder app built for families.

Persistent alarms, caregiver remote control, AI prescription scanning, and more — in one app.

Persistent Alarms

Rings like a phone call until you respond. Works even in Do Not Disturb mode.

Missed-Dose Alerts PLUS

Caregivers get notified the instant a dose is 30 minutes late. No waiting, no guessing.

Caregiver Remote Control PLUS

Family members don't just watch — they add meds, edit appointments, update contacts, and tune alerts from their own phone.

Adherence History

Weekly and monthly adherence stats. See exactly when each dose was taken, missed, or skipped.

AI Prescription Scanner PLUS

Snap a photo of a prescription. AI reads it and adds every medication with correct dose and timing.

Appointments

Doctor visits, labs, refills. Smart reminders 30 min, 1 hour, or 1 day before. Shared with caregivers.

PDF Reports for Doctors PLUS

Export a 30-day adherence report to show at the next check-up. Doctors love it, you look prepared.

Refill Stock Alerts PLUS

Set a refill threshold per bottle. Get warned before you run out — not after.

Questions families ask

Everything you need to know before downloading.

Is PillDrops really free?
Yes. PillDrops is free forever for up to 2 medications, with persistent alarms, dose history, 3 appointments, and 1 health contact — no credit card, no time limit. The Plus plan ($29.99/year or $3.99/month) unlocks unlimited medications, caregiver remote control, AI prescription scanning, PDF reports, and cloud sync for the whole family.
How does caregiver remote control work?
Tap Invite Caregiver in Settings. PillDrops generates a 6-character code (valid 24 hours). Your caregiver opens it inside the PillDrops app on their own Android phone and is connected. From there they can add your medications, edit appointments, update your health contacts, and adjust alarm types — every change syncs to your phone in real time over an authenticated, row-level-secured channel. You can revoke any caregiver connection at any time from Settings.
Is PillDrops a good alternative to Medisafe?
PillDrops costs $29.99/year vs Medisafe Premium at $39.99/year — and offers caregiver remote control that Medisafe doesn't. PillDrops also keeps a generous free tier with persistent alarms, adherence history, and appointments, even after Medisafe's January 2026 paywall changes that limit free usage in many regions.
Will alarms still ring in Do Not Disturb or silent mode?
Yes — on Android. PillDrops uses persistent full-screen medication alarms that ring like a phone call, bypassing Do Not Disturb so a critical dose is never silently missed. You can switch to a gentle reminder per medication if you prefer. iOS support for persistent alarms is on the roadmap.
Can one caregiver manage both parents?
Yes. The caregiver home screen lists every senior you’re connected to in one view, so one adult child can manage both parents from the same app without switching profiles.
Is my health data private?
All medication data is stored locally on your device by default. Cloud sync is opt-in — it activates only when you invite a caregiver, and is scoped to that connection through row-level security on our Supabase backend (data is encrypted in transit via TLS and at rest by the database provider). PillDrops never sells data, never shows ads, and does not share medication information with insurance companies, pharmacies, or advertisers.
What languages are supported?
English, Arabic, Turkish, French, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Italian, Dutch, Polish, Russian, and Japanese — 12 in total, with more added every quarter.
